Turn off

When I turn off my xp laptop computer it says 1 update every time I close. It must be a fault because it happens every time. How do I stop this message please?

Maybe you do have an update to install every time you turn it off?

Other than that, find out what it is and cancel that update with the Microsoft Update Page.

It has been happening for over two months so it can not be a update. i have now solved it by turning the update from automatic to manual. it has now gone. thanks for youe help
