It just surprises me how quick people will accecpt being told to obey and shutup or warn people what to say. Expecially when no one ask how to break copyright protection!

Yea it could have been, but it could be wildlife videos from his Africa trip- a baseball game or sex videos of him and his wife. Since there already in ISO its kinda after the fact!

to my understanding, your allowed to backup dvd for your own use as long as you have the original. i just hate buying movies and getting them scatch when other ppl watch them. thats why i want to make the backups and keep the originals safe.

the iso's are 4.3 and ive never used the dvd-rw's

Well you are mistaken becuase thats illegal, it's illegal because in order to make a backup you have to break the copy protection.

Yea thats right, even if you bought the movie and want to back it up, if it has copy protection and you break it to back it up, its illegal to break

you could also argue (and it HAS been argued) that the encryption itself is a breach of the fair use policy, preventing people without approved hardware (the legal battle was with regards to linux) from viewing their dvd's, legally obtained or otherwise.

that's why programs to break the encryption are readily available, and completely legal
