Should be possible on DVD-RW's.
Have you already used the RW's once and not "erased" them?
Also, are the images <= 4.35 GB?

I find that the best way to backup my movies is to encode them using Divx 6.5, the compression is amazing, at 700MB a movie. The quality is amazing, and then you can burn like 6-7 movies on one DVD.

How do you encode them with Divx? Do you use the Divx Converter? If you burn movies with Divx, will I be able to watch them in a dvd player?

I don't know what country you are from, but in Australia, the intellectual properties act of 2000 states that consumers are allowed one backup of commercial DVD and music CDs provided that they pay for the original.
