Default Need advises on purchase a Laptop

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a Laptop for multimedia purposes. I'll use most on the Internet, photo, youtube, create flash and maybe video editting. Please kindly advise for a reliable laptop with price around 1k.

I am thinking of the following 2:

Toshiba Satellite A100-TA902C

Toshiba A100-VA7

Would you recommend any one of the above? If yes, which one?

Thanks!

Belle

Acer Aspire 5630-6891 - Core2Duo T7200 2GB/160GB/DVD±RW/802.11abg/Bluetooth 2.0/15.4" WXGA/XPMCE

have you tried Dell? I hear that they make really affordable and robust systems.

I did look at Dell's website. I didn't find anything between $800 - $1,000.

So far, I know I want the following:

Core 2 Duo processor
2 GB DDR 2 Ram
a hard drive with at least 5400 RPM
and a nice video card like ATI

Could anyone here recommend a brand or model?

I will be doing video editting and create flash. I also want to use my laptop to record program from t.v. sometime. How can I find out if a laptop have the features/functions that can perform those tasks?

Thanks in advance!

Ok, you won't get that straight from a dealer...if you pick a laptop and then ''customize'' it yourself...they usally charge about £195 just for upgrading from 512mb to 1GB

Also a laptop with a C2D will be pricey.....and most laptops have intergrated graphics.....

Your either going to have to lower your standards....or higher your budget
