Default memory upgrade help

my gf's computer needs a memory upgrade and I don't know which one to buy. I am trying to buy 512 or dual 512mb ram. I have few questions regarding changing memory.

1. Her computer has 256mb ram with 2.0 gig pentium celeron processor. I pulled out the memory to see which company has made it, and found out that it was made by HYNIX. It is

PC3200U-30330
256 DDR 400MHz CL3
HYMD232646B8J-D43 AA

http://www.hynix.com/datasheet/eng/d...&SUB_RAM=256Mb

That was what was on the memory. Is it ok to use it with memory from other brand (corsair etc..)?

2. I looked on hynix web site and saw the timing of the ram being DDR400 3-3-3. Do I have to buy ones only with 3-3-3 timing?

3. Do I have to buy the one with same Cas Latency?

4. Is it ok to uses the ones that are made from different company?

Yes you can mix brands, speed and timings. All the RAM will run at the slowest speed/timings. Buying any PC3200 should work just fine.

The only thing you don't want to do is mix double and single sided RAM (you can tell which is which by looking at it, chips on one side and it's single, both it's double). Mixing might work but it might not, it's best to use all the same type.
