I'm interested in building my own laptop... I've found barebone laptops on MSI, but I can't find anywhere online to buy them... anybody know where I could buy a barebone laptop, and other laptop parts, and if there is money to be saved by building it yourself? Specifically, I'd like one with an intel dual core ready motherboard.

I've thought of building a laptop myself. It would be quite fun, and probably worthwhile, though I'm not sure of any other websites with laptop barebones. Maybe a possible search in Google? If you want to find other laptop parts, go to newegg.com, they have plenty of laptop parts.

To start out with, you gotta have a barebone kit, though, because most cases and motherboards are incompatible. Also, I don't think Newegg has case, motherboards, or laptop processors.

Try these sites:
http://www.directron.com/laptopdiy.html http://www.notebookforums.com/ I've found some halfway decent info on those two sites in the short time since seeing this thread. I still believe it'll be more expensive then buying one, but hey, i'm not here to hate but help Have fun!
