Default Very odd......

I have a fairly new samsung 710n 17" monitor. There has been a couple of times when I load a game - Enter the matrix and the MOH Pacific assault demo - that the picture goes all screwy. It looks like a black line shaped like lightening flashing up and down the screen (sometimes doesn't move - just in 1 spot). I have tried using ctrl-print screen to take a picture of it to show you, but the black lines don't appear in the picture. I still see them if I load these 2 games. I have only noticed it in these 2 games.

I have an amd athlon xp 2100+ and an msi fx5700le 256mb vid card.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I have dx 9.0c and the moSt up-to-date drivers.

EDIT: I played around with startup and it seemed to be something running in the background. I have no clue what the things in startup are, so if anyone has advise, plz let me know.

Have you tried changing the refresh rate? Also how old is the video card and is the fan still working? I had a card once that the fan went out and the display got a little screwed up - kind of a line cutting the display in half.

sounds like an out of range signal, are you running the games at high resolution?

Thats cuz the printscreen takes a shot directly from the framebuffer which is clean

Sounds like, as Cromewell said, ur running out of spec for your monitor. What resolution are you playing at?
