Default CPU at 100%, is there a fix?

Hey!

When playing Test Drive Unlimited, my laptops CPU goes and stays at 100% load, which im guessing is why the game doesnt play properly. In the game requiered specs it says a 2.4Ghz p4 processor is needed- I have a Core2Duo 2.00Ghz with 4Mb cache, so that cant be the problem can it? (Isnt a Core2Duo much faster than a 2.4Ghz p4?)

Thanks for your help,

what graphics card do you have?

a gpu will take most of that load off of the cpu

if your gpu is capable of processing all of the graphical info, your cpu only has to process logic

if your graphics card is insufficient, the cpu will have to make up for it

Its a 7600 Go 256Mb, I did have the original drivers on but installed the new ones with a modded INI and seems to be working better- still not good enough to play TDU tho.

It's perfectly normal for a CPU to hit 100 on games, I guarantee that's not the issue with your slow gameplay.

AMD Athlon MP 90°C - 95°C
AMD Athlon XP 85°C - 90°C
AMD Duron 85°C - 95°C
AMD Opteron 65°C - 71°C
AMD Sempron 90°C - 95°C
AMD K5 60°C - 70°C
AMD K6 65°C - 70°C
AMD K6 Mobile 80°C - 85°C
AMD K7 Thunderbird 70°C - 95°C

Intel Pentium III 60°C - 85°C
