Hi, my computer system is Turion 64x2, ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 and 1GB DDR2. But the graphic doesn't go smooth when running warcraft 3.
I recently found out that I have 7 SVCHOST.EXE running... 2 Network service, 2 system, and 3 Local Service. (Dunno why there are so many). All of them but one takes less than 2800k mem usage but the exception one takes about 31196k. Also, my zone alarm discovered that SVCHOST.exe is trying to have an incoming connection... which I found it weird because first of all, it is blocked by zone alarm, second of all... I don't recall SVCHOST.exe needs to have internet access... Here is my log: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 11:16:25 AM, on 3/13/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\csrss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZONELABS\vsmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZONELABS\avsys\ScanningProcess .exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZONELABS\avsys\ScanningProcess .exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\ePresentation\ePresentation.exe C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\1.2.1128.5462\G oogleToolbarNotifier.exe C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Warkeys\AutoWarkey\AutoHotkey\AutoHotkey.exe C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\ePerformance\MemCheck.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr.exe C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\LightScribe\LSSrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\CCPD-LC\symlcsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\ehome\mcrdsvc.exe C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\eLock\Service\eLockServ.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\alg.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\unsecapp.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZONELABS\avsys\Monitor.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ZONELA~1\ZONEAL~1\MAILFR~1\mantispm.ex e C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe C:\Program Files\Hamachi\hamachi.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\Documents and Settings\Jacky\Desktop\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://google.com/ R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://en.ca.acer.yahoo.com R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://en.ca.acer.yahoo.com R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://en.ca.acer.yahoo.com/ O2 - BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O2 - BHO: BitComet ClickCapture - {39F7E362-828A-4B5A-BCAF-5B79BFDFEA60} - C:\Program Files\BitComet\tools\BitCometBHO_1.1.2.7.dll O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar2.dll O3 - Toolbar: Acer eDataSecurity Management - {5CBE3B7C-1E47-477e-A7DD-396DB0476E29} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\eDStoolbar.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Google - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar2.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [eLockMonitor] C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\eLock\Monitor\LaunchMonitor.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ePower_DMC] C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\ePower\ePower_DMC.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Acer ePresentation HPD] "C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\ePresentation\ePresentation.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ZoneAlarm Client] "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [swg] C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\1.2.1128.5462\G oogleToolbarNotifier.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [DAEMON Tools] "C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -lang 1033 O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe O4 - Startup: Adobe Gamma.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe O4 - Startup: My_AutoWarkey_Script.lnk = C:\Program Files\Warkeys\AutoWarkey\AutoHotkey\AutoHotkey.exe O4 - Global Startup: Acer Empowering Technology.lnk = ? hey! I uninstalled BitComet, but my computer is still slower than it should be. So having 7 SVCHOST.exe isn't something weird?

Try CPU-Z or just look in the BIOS.

It takes my Turion 2 attempts to get the correct clock speeds too, that isn't an issue.

everytime you have a dll running svchost will run as well. See this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314056 I would start by doing system scans (spyware and virus), disabling things via msconfig from running in start up |
