Combating Spam Threads...

Spam is a common occurrence on any forum, ComputerForum.com is no different. In the event you come across a spam thread simply follow these easy steps...


Step 1

Firstly, locate the original post inside the spam thread. On the left hand pane, underneath the offending users' name and avatar, you will find a set of small icons as shown below...



Click on the "Report Post" icon, this should take you to the second step


Step 2

Once the new page has loaded you will see a text box awaiting input from you. This is for you to enter in a very brief description of what is wrong. This is shown below...



Usually this will be as simple as writing "Spam!" but on some occasions more information may well be needed. For instance, if you are unsure whether the thread is spamming or not you can still report the post for a moderator to review at a later time.

Once you have entered your description click on the "Submit" button.

These are the only two steps you need to follow, once you have submitted the report you can continue posting or browsing as you where. DO NO post in the thread, as well stating that you have reported, this is not necessary, all moderators and relevant administration figures will be notified by the forum software.

In addition to spam threads, this same feature can be used to report abusive language, insults being thrown, or arguments breaking out. ANY breach in forum rules, even if you are unsure, can be reported, the moderation and administration team welcome "report" e-mails rather than having to pick up the pieces after a full blown spam fest or argument between members.
