Default Any advantage to having 2 side-by-side displays vs 1 big one?

I already have a 19" LCD monitor. Should I get another 19" display next to it, or save for a 24"? What may be the advantages to either?

multiple displays for programs/surfing/work

one big display for movies

i personally went with 3 20" displays instead of a single large display, and i don't regret it one bit

here's an example.

You're just not going to get that kind of workspace with a single large monitor.

edit: with some less atrocious wallpaper
