I built a computer back in the day when i was like 17 and now i am 25 and would like to either buy a alienware, dell, or just build one myself but if i do it myself i need some advice. I would like to stay in the range of 1000-3000 buckaroos...but here is my dilemma i want to play games like company of heroes, wow, age of empires, and the new LOTR online game but i want to get a computer with dual graphics cards . I know there are no games out for that type of hardware yet and probably wont be till crysis. Now I was thinking about just getting a new video card for this computer but my front bus is 533mhz and my friend said that there is no point in upgrading this one because of that. Should I wait till games start coming out for dual graphics cards? Would it be cheaper to wait a while? The card I have on this compter is 64mb...2.4ghz pentium 4...100 gig hd...512 ram...is it possible to just buy a video card and play the games i want right now on this comp or would the 533 front bus just end up cutting the power of my video card in half?...or should i just start building my own now and upgrade to dual vid cards later? grrr im so conflicted =)...thanks for the help of anyone can help me out...if you do believe i should build than what would u put in it? especially which mobo..

No, you don't want dual graphics cards, there is no need for them anyway. Just get an 8800GTX 768Mb, no worries. Start building a PC, the Pentiums are starting to weather. Go Core 2 Duo E6600 or with your budget I would go X6800. You can never have to fast of a PC.

The C2D E6600 is a fantastic choice, with a X6800 graphic card. But, go with a S-ATA 2 HDD to run more efficient. Put at least 1GB if not more, so you can run almost anything you may want. That's the crucial elements of building a machine. If I can help you with the parts, contact me. If not, no worries. Just my 2 cents.

With that budget I wouldn't be putting in a 1 gig of ram, and there's no such thing as an x6800 graphics card. The x6800 is another CPU better than the E6600.
I would go with: -E6600 -2 Gigs of Corsair XMS2 DDR2800 4-4-4-12 -EVGA 680i Motherboard -8800 GTX -Corsair 620HX PSU -Choose a case and dvd burner too your liking -Western Digital Raptor 74 gig 10000 RPM Primary Drive -Western Digital 320 Gig 7200 RPM 16 Mb Cache for storage Get this stuff off newegg.com, it's the cheapest
