Default What's better Soundblaster or CMI 9739A

I just bought a desktop that comes with CMI 9739A 6 Channel CODEC. My old pc has a sound card, a SoundBlaster Live 24-bit.

Should I leave the PC alone or install the Soundblaster card?

Thanks.

heres an idea. hook up our speakers to the computer without the soundbaster in it. listen to some music then hook up the soundblaster and listen to some more music then decide and if you cant tell a diffrence then just go with the onboard. or leave the soundblaster in lol totally up to you

I feel pretty safe saying the SoundBlaster Life will be better My 1.4GHz Athlon had a SoundBlaster Live in it, and I still sometimes wish I'd kept the card... None of my recent computers have even come close to the quality that card had. However, once you get used to the lower quality sound of onboard audio, it's not too bad...

An external card will always be better than onboard audio. Onboard audio sometimes (almost all of the time actually) is affected by electrical noise on the motherboard.
