Those "emulators" are legal, just that they're very limited when playing games

There aren't actually any Windows emulators for Linux.
The main program that MIGHT allow you to use some Windows software is called WINE (Wine Is Not an Emulator) Quote:
The number of games that will run under this software is very limited, chances are you might not get any of your existing games to run at all. I suggest you look into what Games run natively and what games can be run under the likes of WINE / Cedega / CrossOver. WINE Cedega Crossover I can tell you now that Unreal Tournament 2004, Quake 4 and Doom III will run natively so if you play any of those you are ok.

hmm i looked into wine, crossover and cedega, but it looks as if wine can be my only choice. cedega says that it requires an n-vidia video card, (i have ATI) and the crossover charge a LOT of money, even tho it does look to be the best choice... i will try out wine and hope for the best that some of my 50+ games will work...

you cannot game worth a damn on linux. period. I know people will argue with me but it's a hassle getting it going. Windows is the best for gaming hands down.
If you want to play Steam related games or say BF2142 or BF2 stay away from linux. And I like linux. |
