I know alot of members here are saying "I'll get Vista when the first service pack comes out", well that most likely wont be happening because as of now, Microsoft is not planning on releasing any service packs for Vista, but include all the updates via Windows Update.
Heres a quote from a PC Magazine article: Quote:

Well, bad news for Microsoft. They should just come out with a fake SP1 with some little update and maybe then it will work.

Thats what the article writer for PC Magazine said, that even if the service pack only includes a few fixes, it would make alot of people much happier.

People will get use to the glossy look. After 3 months of the same theme, you don't care about 3d flip and features like that. It's just a selling point.

WTH? Vista's scheduled to be replaced in 2009 by Vienna. How many service packs did Me get?
Exactly. Zero. I wouldn't hold my breath for any Vista service packs. And you can bet Vienna will be even MORE restrictive in DRM, have even less driver support, and require even more system resources than Vista. Every day, my XP disc is becoming more and more valuable to me. Tom

I highly doubt they even try another new os for a while... They are pushing updates through instead of a sp i have noticed a lot of changes ie new backgrounds and a lot of patches that have been pushed into my vista since i installed it so they are delivering as promised just no sp and so far i dont see why they would need one a sp is usually bad publicity for a company its like saying we really ****ed up heres the fix and they put in extra time for vista for this reason i dont think they will want to go through the xp fiasco again...

Vista's launch gave us a much less buggy operating system then other MS fiascos. My vista has been goign stable for a month, with updates every couple days. I haven't had trouble yet and my experience is getting better and better.
service packs are really unncessary now days ... I get my updates rather frequenty as I sleep and wake up to a new update installed. I would much rather have my updates come out as soon as they are released then having to wait for a service pack to get them all at once. I think it's a smart move on microsoft's part updating all the current vista users on a day by day basis then having the bugs fester until they get around to releasing a service pack.
