I am trying to get an old dell optiplex gx100 (old ones) to work.
When i boot up theres a series of beep so this is what i did 1. unplugged all devices (cd rom ,floppy, nics etc..) Still didn't work. so i pressumed the memory (SDR) is not good so i got a brand new one which i tested in another optiplex and it worked. So i placed in the ram and the pc still gave me the beeps.(with no display)..so i changed slots...same beeps again (with no display).Put in a brand new HD..BEEPS again (with no display again ). So to conclude i did everything possible. So what do you guys think cos i think the mobo is dead .and yes its a very old dell which was allready on the written off list

Those beeps mean something, and they can tell you what is wrong. I don't know what means what personally, but if you google it, you might be able to find it...
Actually, I just did it for you: http://www.helpwithpcs.com/upgrading...beep-codes.htm See if this matches anything.
