I'm going to skip reading half of your post, and just say, if you have to ask, you probably should.

true, probably best to skip half the q.
I have one q though. I recently found another anime series which i had (IM PRETTY SURE) downloaded episodes 1-24 Fully. While the first say 12 or whatever were downloaded on the first hard drive(thats acting sus, the one ive been reporting on in this thread) and the others on the new hdd. In between ive moved the series up and around between the two hard drives. My q is this, i've FINALLY gone to watch the series since i've been downloading it but not watching. And something is wrong, again some episodes arent working. I ran it through bit torrent, alot, mainly in the episodes 12-20 region wont play, and even if they do they'll be skippy etc in windows media. I finally decided to try opening the torrent files again in uTorrent and saving the file to the same folder. Upon doing that most of the series with problems i found showed as being completed around 44%. Most were in the 40's(actually their all in the 40 something % completed). Meanwhile eps 22 and 24 which were skippy, were about 90 something % complete. So i tested by dl'ing the 22/24, i let it complete the extra few %, and i must say the skipping and frames which didnt change when the audio/scene changed are gone. Its perfectly clear. So what does this mean? Obviously the torrent says for most of the eps that only 40 something % has been completed, so wth happened to the other 60%? I swear i downloaded all of these to completion last time. Is their a possible reason for parts missing? Is this a sign that a) defragment lost parts of the file, b) some sorta problem with the temporary memory which downloaded items are stored in before oging ot the hdd or c) something else? episodes 1-9 are fine, all come up as 100% completed when i resave the torrent file... so why are they fine and others not? any possible explanations? im kind of worried about reformatting the old hard drive and putting new stuff on there if its just going to stuff up O_o. |

a general question on cpus: i remember something from a long time about cpu's storing data temporarily in its memory before its transferred to the hard drive or whatever? or am i thinking of ram? I still thoguht the cpu had its own memory. if so is there possibly chance of it stuffing up? i redownloaded some more bit torrents, and for some reasona nother episode which i just redl'ed showed up after being finished(and removing the torrent) when i went to watch it and reload the torrent in, it said it was back to the 44% or whatever it originally was.
Taking into account i actually downloaded all these episodes a month or so ago FULLY, and about 55% of it disappeared, how, after redling it again does it come up as still only 44% complete O_O. i rechecked the other eps i redled and thank the gods but they show up as 100% complete and start seeding. |
