Default simple newbie question 133mhz or 266mhz

O.K this will sound pritty stupid but I'm on a very tight budget....Dont lough I have 256 mb 133mh ram and yes I'm upgrading the question, should I go for 512 mb 133mhz because it very cheap or 512 mb 266mhz I understand the two will not mix so

256 133mhz + 512 133mhz=768 mb
or

512 266mhz

arrr my board will take pc2100 266mhz

ha ha stupid question but a have no idea....

any replys welcome

Thanks Jon

Second that, but if you can't afford new pc, go for the 266mhz one

Definetly the faster of the two if possible. No reason to decrease the performance anymore ^^;

True, but he'd have 256mb more of the slower ram.

Why not just use the money for something else, like paying bills, or some lunch?

Yea, if you buy the 266 one it'll run slower due to the 133 one since the memory runs at the slower it doesn't matter if you have 2gb of mixed ram.

Anyway i would rather suggest you buy a 512 stick of 266 which cost like 8$ more than the 256, you remove the one 133 and put the 266 and you'll see a increment in the performance
