You got "zzzzzzzingered" with adware! Dump any trace of that.... ! You probably tried the free scan or downloaded the shareware to be seeing this. One tool that can help locate the registry keys in it's main window is RegCleaner. http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/regcleaner.htm

First if you tried the shareware version look for the uninstall option or go into the add/remove programs for XP, programs and features in Vista to see if there is any listing there. The next thing is to post a HT log to see if the specific reg key can be seen there and removed.

Yep, that's adware, I've gotten that one before, nothing's really wrong with your comp, they're just trying to scare you into downloading their software

They are trying to scare you into "buying" their full version. It's the same crap seen with a number of shareware trial versions for different things like removing viruses, adwares, spwares, fixing registry problems where you hear the familiar name that tune of "you must buy now to see these removed or that fixed" horse dump! The simple response is simply "dump them"! Post a log so we can help you get rid of it!

Simply stopping the messenger service doesn't remove adwares! You have to locate the little switch they install for the popup to run and remove it. This is where posting a log will do far more in seeing it removed. If you use the messenger service regularly why would you want it disabled???
