I've been stumped on trying to find out what's wrong with my girlfriends sound on her computer. On the back there are 6 ports i can plug the speakers into. I've installed many drivers including the ones from the manufacturers website ( mobo is Intel® Desktop Board D945GTP) hoping that it might fix the problem but nooo. I've also tried out headphones and 2 different types of speakers with no success.
This is the full message I get when I try to access Volume Control: "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add Hardware. This program will now close." When I right click my computer and hit manage and go to device manager these two are the ones with the questions marks near them in other devices: ? SM Bus Controller ? Video Bus Controller I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with sound. When I go to Sound, Video and game controllers I see the following drivers: Audio Codecs Legacy Audio Drivers Legacy Video Capture Devices Media Control Devices SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC (Downloaded from Intel website) Video Codecs Help is MUCH appreciated! Edited: Windows Audio is started in services.msc by the way. Last edited by Chroniclez05; 03-26-2007 at 05:18 AM. |
