Default how to prevent other people in the internet scan my compuetr?

when i dial to internet,there always have people scan my computer.i know he want to destroy my compuer.but i don't know how to prevent he.

If you have to dial odds are you arent that much at risk as any serious threat would take to long to propogate. As for "him wanting to destroy your computer" that might be a bit far but just get a firewall, Agnitum has a good free one (unlike ZoneAlarm which is just free ) http://www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/
