Default Two Net Connections

Hello, I am wondering if they make an adapter that will allow you to plug two ethernet cables in (so you can get internet on two computers) without getting a wireless network.

Thanks.

Without getting a wireless network? What do you mean there? It is possible to bridge two network cards together in windows; wireless, wired, or one of each...

There are just wired routers, but most of the time it is just as cheap, if not cheaper, to get a wireless router. If you don't configure the wireless, then you don't have to worry about people hacking into the router; the wireless router will send out a signal, but it won't allow people to connect to it unless it has been configured. So, basically, buy a wireless router but just use the wired ports on it...

sorry for bringing back an old thread, but what kind of cables would i use to connect the PCs on the wired router, just an ethernet cable? or something else?. Also I have comcast high speed internet, so it is cable internet. But I don't see a port on the pictures on newegg for the black cable line that needs to be plugged in for the internet to work

thanks

just a cat5 ethernet cables and a router is all you need

you hook the router to your modem and your 2 computers to the router
all with ethernet cables.

ah thank you, one more thing though. When I switch back and forth between my laptop and desktop I have to unplug the modem and plug it back in for the internet to work on my laptop and vice versa. I'm guessing this problem will be fixed when I get this.

You won't need to unplug the modem anymore. Because of the router you can have both laptop and desktop hooked to the internet at the same time.

When you unplug the modem you actually refreshing the IP assigned to your computer but with the router, you don't have to do this anymore.
