Unhappy Vista Beta Compatibility

Hi
I bought a new computer with no OS. I decided on Vista, and picked one up on ebay, had a few installation probs but managed that, [with some help] my Norton security was really old so I picked one up that was Vista ready, but when I went to the site to download the vista version they didn't do one for Vista Beta. I have now been at this for 4 days and even allowing for the fact that I am not as computer literate as some, and take a bit longer. This is getting ridiculous I am sorry I did not stick with XP it's not as pretty! but at least it is functional. I also tried Microsofts site hoping I could upgrade to something that was compatabile but after 2 hours of getting nowhere I gave up.
So before I abandon it and load XP does anyone have a solution to the security compatability problem. when I try to load norton the computer tells me this is not compatable with this programme.
Thank you

The software is only going to work on the current version of Vista, the public release. If you got a demo it sounds like someone scammed you because the BETA's finished a while ago now.

Thanks,
Should have read a lot more before I bought the stupid thing.
No one seems especially impressed. although lots are selling it.
Will go back to XP it just annoys me that I wasted £50

You could allways try putting AVG or Avast on it, it may work?

Sorry to hear about it though.

ouch £50 for the beta version!

Did the advert clearly state it was beta? If not you might like to try complaining to ebay, maybe you will be able to get a refund.

You might even try Microsoft, if you send them a pitiful letter / email they might feel sorry enough for you to give you a proper copy. It's worth a try!
