Default Will keeping laptop plugged in all the time damage battery?

I am going to be replacing my old laptop soon. I usually only use my current laptop at home and rarely take it out of the house. That will probably change somewhat with the new laptop. I currently always keep my laptop plugged into the wall outlet. With the new system, will this damage the battery or decrease it's life when I want to use the laptop unplugged from the wall? Thanks for any help!

Smudge, Smudge -

When you decide to buy a new laptop, (hopefully from a guy like me) - remove the battery after it's charged up and only attach it to the system when you want to be portable!

Best advice, over charging the battery will eventually kill it! Batteries can cost anywhere from $120 on "+" (up!).

Best advice witch is the smartest. It's like having a cordless phone... keep charging it and eventually it will die!
