Default .VCR file problem

Hi guys

Umm, ok, the other day, my grandpa saved a show for me (on TV...his TV is on his PC, with ATI all in wonder). So, he saved it for me, and its a .VCR file. At his place, he played it with Windows media player. I tried here, it dosn't work. I also tried it with Nero Showtime, Intervideo WinDVD, REal player, and Quick time player....none of them work

does anyone know how i can watch this Show on my PC? Any program that can convert videos? or perhaps a player that will play the .VCR file? i need it free, please..

Thank you

Chris
