Do you have a Windows Disc?

I know there is some way you can type something into Command Prompt and it will check all your Windows files and will repair them if they are damaged or missing.

Didn't your computer come with an XP disc?

You could try the restore disc but it may be a bit extreme for what it is.

Try going back to a restore point and see if the problem goes, go back to one that you know the problem wasn't happening with.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

You may have to go back a page or two...

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You're using Windows NT aren't you?

I found this on the MS web site, It has a solution to your problem, I don't know how easy it is though

Here you go:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/165152

Hope it helps

No, apparently most notebooks these days dont come with a genuine windows install disk.. i think..

Checked the system restore, for todays date, it had the procedure of installing a "Software distribution service 2.0"; im guessing thats from my windows automatic updates.. and most likely what caused this problem.

Nope, not windows nt, using xp pro instead.

I'll try restore back before the software service.

Thanks Kornowski
