Talking how come my sound sucks?

So I have a Soundblaster 7.1 Audigy SE
I have had this problem ever since I got it, but not sure whats wrong here.
So I have 7.1, but am only using 2 speakers. I have it set up from the creative software for 2 desktop speakers, sound is on max in control panel, and everything else, and it is still really quiet.

It is even worse when watching TV with my AIW X1900.
So are the speakers busted? Or do I need to fulfill the 7.1 in order to get decent sound? It is barely audible unless it is right next to my ear like a pair of earphones, lol.

Check the speakers with another sound card/computer.

Hmm..., have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers for the sound card, or another set of speakers?

Do you think you might just have the volume up too loud? Assuming your AIW uses a Line-in, that's a pretty typical problem... And I know on my desktop, if the WAV gets maxed out(which some problems do for me...) my audio is distorted.

Unhappy

OK, so I guess my other speakers were messed. They suddenly went really quiet on me. So I hooked up some new ones, and bam they work.

However...
The AIW tv sound still crackles, and where I turn down the WAV (it doesn't use line in) it still crackles.

Update- I hooked the speakers up with this little adapter that plugs into the sound card and connects to the AIW.

Certain channels have a lot of crackling in the background, some do not. Some have the audio skipping.
What's wrong here?
