1) Most people will suggest you use intel C2D with that sort of budget.

2) Optical drive get a DVD burner.

3) You can check your price with newegg. Don't ask people how much it worth usless you prepare to build it yourself. Because the difference will be the company's warranty and their labour for building the computer.
And almost everyone could tell you their version of hardware list within your budget.

I would go Core 2 Duo and 8800GTS graphic card. But i would atleast get the 8800GTS graphic card over the 7900GT.

Yeah, an e6300 with an 8800gts. Glorious gaming power indeed. I would suggest corsair xms2 series of RAM also.

Yeah, of course an 8800 GTS would be good but there's the small factor of money...

The Corsair XMS2 RAM is very good!

OS: Window Visa Home Premium 64-bit
Case: Qrius 9th ATX Black Case With Side window, I choose a cheap one to keep the price low. But you can use whatever you like.

Chosen OCZ instead because etccomputer don't have choice for DDR2 800 for Corsair
