Default BackUp Data, Hard Drive Help.

i got a Fantom Drives Titanium-II 200GB USB 2.0 7200rpm External Hard Drive, from Buy.com because of the price(79.99 free s&h!).

I just brought a external hard drive to back-up my data, i've never done anything like that before, and i need some help. how can reformat it FAT32 to NTFS, whats partition, and how many do i need? stuff like that.
