Question Dell E176FPb

i have this LCD (17inch) and it has serious problems. When i connect it ad turn it on, i suddenly lose the picture and the screen goes blank but the LED stays green which means there is still power. If the LED was orange then i know i was a problem with power.

where does my problem lie ? is this a manufacture defect ?

The problem can lie with either the monitor or your graphics card. To see which one is at fault, you should try using a different monitor and if that doesn't duplicate the problem, then its your monitor's fault.

I don't know if computer monitors can be repaired, but a TV repair store may be able to help you. If that isn't going to work, you might be out of luck.

Computer monitors can be repaired... you could search ebay for a monitor like yours with a cracked screen and swap out the LCDs... cracked monitors runa bout $20 plus shipping.

People chuck out hardware with minor problems, I have picked up whole computers that just have a dodge cap, so all I did to get it working again was to solder a replacement on.
