Default 2 Ethernet Ports for one PC??

I want to buy a KOUTECH USB 2.0 & FireWire(IEEE1394) & Gigabit Ethernet Network Combo PCI Card, Model "PC720" -RETAIL or a SIIG USB2.0+FireWire+10/100 Combo PCI Card, Model "JU-2NE012" -RETAIL

because i have a usb 2.0 and firewire front panel hub, and these add-on cards also have 10/100 port on it too. I just want to know if the 10/100 on motherboard and on the add-on card can be use as two different ports or not??

You can use either or both ethernet connections at the same time; it is quite common to use 1 pc with 2 eth, one leads to www and the other to LAN; the PC acts as a firewall. So if you just want to use one and keep the other as a *spare*, that's Ok too.
