Ubuntu is not strange.First of all why installing linux and say its strange ?..anyways you CAN install office 2000 on it (even 2003).I've been there and done that. It won't work with wine. But it will work with the official wine,CROSSOVER OFFICE.

Would you mind to tell me how do I do that? I can see the icon coming on the desktop. But I cant find the right file. Every icon looks same (strange even). So please help me if you can

this is the official wine. And office 2k works. There's no double clicking any icon to install office of linux

Linux, Weird?! If you can't use Office on Ubuntu just use Open Office. I use it, even on Windows.
