I'm having a little bit of difficulty here... Someone sent me a HD to try and recover some info... So far I've tried
* Running BartPE(HD as laptop's main drive, locks up before fully loaded) * Running Windows setup(again in the laptop, locks up when examines the drive) * Using my USB to IDE cable(locks computers up, tried two different machines) * Using my Macintosh(works flawlessly!) I'm at a bit of a loss here because I have around 30GB worth of files I need to recover... So far I've not had any problems accessing the files, but what to do with them, I donno... I'm copying the files to my mac now, but I only have about 25GB free(and that's removing my MP3s and other stuff I don't need!) I'm going to burn DVDs eventually, but I REALLY wanted it to work on a computer where I could scan it for viruses...perhaps run a CHKDSK and fix the problem... So...any suggestions to what I could do? Any good software for repairing WINDOWS drives on a mac? Or maybe some idea why it wouldn't ever work on my other machines... I'm about to make my old PIII 733 into a linux box. Maybe I'll have some luck with this drive on that machine...
