I tried connecting a 500gb HDD to my 360. It connects physically but the xbox OS doesn't recognize it. Anyone know how to do it?

If you're talking about using a USB externall drive, that's out of the question. You have to use their drives made for the 360. There's a new 120Gb HDD that should be out soon if not already that will ONLY run you $179

You can format the hard drive as FAT32 and the 360 will read the files, but you cant write to the drive from the Xbox, so you would first have to find a way to copy files to the external drive first.

I've heard about alternate operating systems for the xbox, maybe there's one for the 360
