my internet browser keeps gettin redirected to some weird search engine. For eg, i click one of the search results in google and i will be redirected to the search engine, anyway to remove this irritating process?

Sounds like you got some spyware there. Use an antispyware scanner and it should get rid of it. Check out this posting for a little advice.
