Default Need help please :)

Hi,

I want to buy a new motherboard but need a little help as I'm not very good on mobo's!

What I would like the motherboard to have is:

Core 2 duo compat
DDR2 RAM slots
AGP x8
PCie(not very good on the x part of it lol)
2 x The standard harddrive connection(i think its IDE?!?)
Quite a few standard PCI slots

Are there any motherboards out there that are good (asus/gigabit) but not massively expensive!

Hope that's enough info

I know of one board that has the DDR2 and DDR (not at the same time though), AGPx8, PCI-e (x4, I think) and an LGA775 (for Intel Core 2 Duos)... Although I'm not sure on the number of IDE ports it has...

ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA

P.S. Do you own a Gibson?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. That's the second time I've been pointed to that board

The trouble is I've had an Asrock board before and it caused nothing but trouble . Is this the case with all Asrock boards?

Also yes i do own a Gibson (a Gibson Nighthawk Custom along with 5 other electrics (mainly Fenders lol)) Do you play then?

Cheers for your help!

I think it's the only or one of the only boards out there that has what you've asked for.

I have an ASRock board at the moment and it's fine.

Damn you! I've got a very nice LP copy, Yamaha Pacifica Strat and a Yamaha acoustic

It looks like a pretty decent board...
I've just bought the E6300 for £107, the prices are going to come down too.

I've been playing 2 years now, Yeah, I like to think I'm pretty good, What about you?

Yeh, if you wait 4 days (April 22nd) intel are lowering all of the core2duo prices, so hold off on that for a few days. I would siggest either the e6300 or the e6400 depending on its price when they drop

Thanks for that Dragon(Fortunatly I haven't quite got the funds together until next weeks so that will work out well!)

Yeah Kornowski i couldn't view the Led Zeppelin one(i hope it was Zeppelin lol) were you playing on the terminal velocity one? If so it was good

I've been playing about 5 years(ish) now i would give you an example but I have none on the internet at the moment(I'm actually working on some stuff now!) I shall tell you my styles i like though. I love Classic Rock/ I'm into some of the shred guitarists like Via and john 5 but i also love country rock type stuff like albert lee and brent mason. So i love a range of music lol!

Thanks again for all your help

Cool, thats a long time! Classic rock is by far my favourite type of music, you just can't go wrong!
