Draw a bitmap in Paint(or other softwares).it must be 32*32.save it as a ".ico" file.then you can use the file to custom the shortcut's icon.

alright i figured out regular .bmp files work, and you don't lose your colour having to change it to 16 bit colour like i did to get it to .ico, and it resizes the image for you. thanks tho, i would have never found all this out if i hadnt started messing around with .ico files

tho i'm still wondering if anyone knows how i flat out edit the looks of folders and .exe files, not just shortcuts

Default Simple ANSWER

Get hold of Microangelo. It allows you to make icons in a professional manner. It also allows you to change the icons of exe files just like that. Easy peasy! If you wanna see some icons that I have made with Microangelo, click on this link: http://www.marrouche.net/cz3rt/test/a.htm choose dektop goodies and then go to the icons and animated icons

Default One more thing.

There are programs around that allow you to change the icons of exe files. Just use google and search for them. Good luck bro!
