Default cant change homepage

i cant change my homepage....everytime I open internet explorer it goes to this "about:blank" page.....i want to set it as yahoo.ca...but when i try to change it in the internet options and then click apply....it still doesnt work..and when i open internet explorer again..it still goes to "about:blank".....what can i do to fix this?

u could switch to firefox, or, use microsoft anti-spyware and use browser hijack restore to set default pages properly, assuming of course you had previous spyware.

thats not the answer man

deff spyware....sounds like a simpe fix, just empty out your temporary internet files and stuff like that....also browse your add/ remove programs to see if anything is in there that you dont recognize, cause chances are that you didnt install it

Yeah, it's gotta be spyware, but sometimes its harder to get rid of that kinda stuff that just clearing temp internet files and looking for it in the programs list. Get some anti-spyware software. There's a lotta good free ones, and Microsoft has a free one out now that I use, and it works pretty well. If you have XP, you can download it on the windows home page.

I had this problem, its spyware. use Ad-Aware.

i thought it was a bug in internet explorer. why would spyware force a homepage to about:blank. normally its something more extreme, hence the name browser hijack.
