speakers aint working on another computer

I got some great speakers with my dell computer and they work fine but when i change them over to my brothers hp computer they wont work ? any ideas why this might be ?

run the simple checks.

make sure it isnt mute, increase the volume. if anything, check the sound drivers .

are you sure your plugging it in the right plug on the hp (speaker plug..not audio out..)... and the volume being at a good level....
