Default need help..cannot boot..

i want to install new os using bootable cd.
i already tried to install the os in my fren's pc using the same cd and using my hdd..it's works.i think the problem is not from the cd and the hdd..

after the message "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter",i insert my os cd and press enter. and after around 1 second, the message still same.

i also try inserting another cd in my optical drive and in another pc,but it's works..so my optical drive is fine.

i'm using msi p965neo- f almost 2 months.
last 2 month,i'm using that cd to install my new os.
i format the hdd, that's why i have to install. but the message appear when i try to install.
in bios setup,i alreade made boot device from cdrom.

is my mobo problem?

Check all the connections in the PC. Make sure that the cables are not damaged.
You can try and start setup with floppy disks (you need to download them (on your friends pc). I'm not sure it'll work though... but it wont make it worst for sure

The first thing karchis needs is a Welcome to the Computer Forum! Official Welcome Thread and the usual reminder given to new members to review the Forum Rules

The two things to first be looking at is checking to see if the cable is plugged in correctly and the drive's jumper is set correctly since you moved it back and forth between two systems. Even if the connector is only slightly pulled out a little on one side that can stop a drive from running or even from being detected by an installer.

make sure your boot order in the bios is correct or hit whatever F key it is on your motherboard to enter the boot menu if it has one.

When I was referring to making sure the connector was "all the way in" you would be surprised at how easy it is to have an "oops!" type of day. Bad Board? Or Simply A Need To Replug? "wah daaaa....?" "stupid plug!" No matter how long or how many times "something" can always goof you up!
