Default good disk checking software

What is a good program for checking my harddrive

If you have XP:
Double-click My computer on the Desktop (or Start, My Computer), select drive, right click on Properties, Tools, Check Now...

Checking your HD for what exactly? If you are talking about scanning for errors, Windows has a built in scandisk.
