ok... i have a problem restarting the comp in safe mode, when i press f8 It goes to that menu thingy but i cant select anyhting, it just stays at the same place.
It like goes frozen, i cant even press enter to select windows normally, so i have no choice but to hit the restart button. is there any other way to start in safe mode???? ive asked people at college about it, and they all say it is imposible for me not to be able to start in safe mode... well im not retarded so if i could select safe mode i would. ![]() please help |

It sounds like you have some errors in your windows install. I would reccomend you boot to the windows cd and select the repair option select your windows when it asks usually its 1 by defualy and then when you get the command prompt type chkdsk/r and do that a few times.. This is a place to start...

well, i actually didnt know that, that menu was part of the actuall operating system,
i remember my teacher saying something about it being in the bootstrap loader or something, and i didnt really understand. well i researched it, and still dont understand: http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/b/bootload.htm http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...4101900AAoayzv and i had the problem like 6 months ago, and ive asked the guy that fixes the comp to reinstall windows,(and charges for it even tho its already installed) coz i dont have the CD |

You dont have a windows cd? That kinda complicates things sounds like you need to fix his errors do any of your friends have the disk you can borrow for the repair thats legal to just repair using any cd you dont have to have the original as long as you are not reinstalling the os entirely.
