Angry My computer won't turn on

Hi, I don't know if this is the proper thread to visit b/c i don't know exactly where the problem w/ my computer lies, but since it won't turn on, i'm going to assume for now it is a power supply problem. Like I said, i can't turn my computer on. This is an ongoing problem. It's pretty weird, I hope you guys will know what the hell is going on w/ my computer. Before, if i turned my computer off for any extensive period of time (say, an hour) it would not start until the next day sometime. I would push the power button, but nothing would happen. Then, the next day, I would usually wake up to find the power light blinking on and off, or it would be trying to start up, and it would sound like it was failing to catch, or something. Now, it won't start up at all. Do any of you guys know any reason this would happen. Oh, and by the way, my computer is a Dell 2.0 ghz w/ 256 meg ram and an 80 gig hard drive. I can't think of the other specifics off the top of my head right now, but if you think any of them are important, i can find out. If any of you guys can help me out w/ this, or if you could steer me towards the proper forum for this problem, I'd be much obliged.

well, first, if it's still under warranty, send it in to dell. Otherwise, if you don't know much about computer hardware and have never opened up your computer and put in new parts before, I wouldn't try to mess with things in the case. The problem sounds like it's in your hardware, it could be a bad connection between your power supply and motherboard or something like that. If you check the connections and it seems ok, and still doesnt work, you could take it into a shop.

If it is no longuer under warranty, check if the S/W switch is well inserted. I got that problem with a computer of mine.
