Controller cards (IDE/SATA), network cards (modems too, I think), a few low quality video cards, and soon, sound cards.

It's a whole other interface, just like comparing PCI and ISA: just another interface. It's not limited to anything, you just don't see much available for it because there's no real need for the additional speed over original PCI yet.

Although just like with ISA, they are completely drawing out the death of PCI. If they would do as Intel did with IDE, then we could be moved on from PCI and have all of those components coming in the new standard.
