Default audio not sounding right

i have onboard audio (asus p5b-vm)
when i play any audio it crackles and pops and sounds horrible, ever time something loads or w/e the audio crackles and does weird stuff as well
static of something>and also the ethernet was randomly was disconnecting from the internet, do i need to replace my motherboard(motherboard is brand new 1 day old)

2 gigs ram
