Im sure within a year 4GB will start becoming too low for high-end gamers, and they would then need to buy a 64-Bit OS.

64 bit OS are arguably 'faster' or better. To be honest I have never noticed a difference. One good thing about 32 bit is they have fewer compatibility issues and tend to play better with most software, considering 64 bit really isn't the standard. Well at least not the most popular.

I also highly doubt 4 gigs of RAM will become the standard for high performance gaming machines, especially with how fast RAM is getting. DDR3 will be out this year for use in system memory. So that argument is kind of moot.

Again, I don't think so, that would flood the market. Game developers want to market games to people with existing technology, not force people to upgrade. I would say it will be three years before 64bit OSes are required. Hell, lots of games still support windows 98!

haha, they dont want people to be able to use existing hardware!

All of the new games that look promising are said to only work with DX10 and Vista, and even having dual 8800's would bottleneck them!

Again, we will have to agree to disagree. I think MS will flop on the DX10 thing and eventually release it for XP. I also think that if a developer was wise they would want to keep in legacy support for casual gamers. You figure if a video game sells 10 million copies, only a small percentage of those 10 million are hardcore gamers that will play all the time with the latest and greatest hardware. When people get forced to upgrade who are casual (which is a subjective term I suppose) a lot of times they will just wait until its cheaper or whatever. Vista did not get that great of sales, and especially not the amount of sales they anticipated. In fact most businesses and educational organizations will not roll out vista for another year probably or more.
