Ati does not have better picture quality, I have seen the comparison between a X1950 pro and 7900GT and that is certainly not true. I'm sure the next generation Ati cards are no different. Framerates are important too, its useless to have good "quality" graphics but it runs like a slideshow, Nvidia has the best balance of graphical grunt and quality.
