I don't believe there's such thing as totally free PC-to-landline VoIP, except the limited offers of companies such as Skype. At the end of the day, it costs to connect to a company's telephone network, and someone has to bear the cost of that. If you're after another free trial, maybe something like TalQer.

Enjoy.

That's a very good find, Rambo. I stand corrected. Ok the word free is asterisked, but it seems you're allowed 300 mins of free calls per week to the free destinations listed. And lets face it, who wants to be calling Slovakia anyway?

Haha. I actually use VoipStunt for our home phone. I set up an ATA Box in January, and topped my account up with 10 Euros (like £6) and we have free calls to mostly anywhere (landlines only) for 4 months. I am one happy customer.

I've just tested it out, and it works very well too. Audio quality is at least as good as Skype if not better, lag is only about 0.2s, and it automatically adjusts the volume of the mic. You've converted me.

I've just discovered the catch.

The free calls are limited to 5 mins duration, and there's a maximum of 30 free trial calls. The welcome email actually said the free calls were limited to 1 min, but I've consistently been cut off after 5, so it seems they're playing a very good strategy, giving you a slice of cake knowing full well you'll want the whole thing when you've eaten the slice.
