xbox 360 controller on PC??

can u use normal xbox 360 controller on PC??... i know they have special ones that are like "xbox 360 controllers for windows" and there compatiable with pc(windows) and xbox .. but what bout the normal ones .. are they intercompatiable aswell .. or is there a way to make them intercompatiable cause there like $20 cheaper

Old Xbox controllers were apparnetly a modified form of USB. So, newer ones are probably the same. If you could find the pin-out, converting one probably wouldn't be too hard. That or maybe you'd luck up and the colors would match up with a standard USB cable

Yes they will work. In fact Thats what I use. I wouldn't recommend the one that says it's for windows, they just charge you more for the same thing.

it allready works for vista. i use mine (normal 360 controller) to play halo and test drive unlimited

Halo2 vista will have full support for the original xbox (wired) controller (and as far as I know the elite too). Even the auto-aim is supposed to be available to those with the controller.

Nope, plug it in and it installs automatically. I find it actually works better in Vista then in XP.

they are usb. the 360 games on vista is a load of crap. why would people buy a 360 if the games could be played on a computer?
