The wmp54g windows driver works with ndiswrapper AFAIK. You'll have to look it up. Some distros are easier than others to install. You will need the windows sys and inf files appropriate.
You'll have to know what video card. linux includes workable drivers for most. The intel drivers are good. You can get better nvidia and ati driver straight from nvidia and ati.
